About iEARN
iEARN is the world's largest non-profit global network that enables teachers and young people to use the Internet and other new technologies to collaborate on projects that both enhance learning and make a difference in the world.
iEARN Egypt
Since 1999,
iEARN Egypt, its partners and the Ministry of Education in Egypt, have been working collaboratively on developing the iEARN activities and operation in Egypt. Policies and procedures are regulated by the Board of Directors, which was established by a ministerial decree.
The program works on upgrading student computer/internet skills, English language ability and exposure to real-life, authentic texts and projects focused on learner-centered teaching, cooperative and thematic learning, and development of life skills – critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and teambuilding.
iEARN Egypt runs a variety of programs and projects including:

Students' high interest and enthusiasm has been a great asset to the development of the operation. It is all reflected in their projects, character building and real life skills. Students have participated in different international events as iEARN International Conference and Youth Summit in South Africa (2001), in Russia (2002), YouthCaN Med (2000 & 2002), Japan (2003), Slovakia (2004), Senegal (2005) and Netherlands (2006) summits.
On continuous basis, professional educators are handling formative evaluation for the different programs.
In 2004, iEARN Egypt carried out a comprehensive evaluative study that measured the impact o the program towards the active learning of both the Egyptian student and teacher.
