The Millennium Development Goals were adopted in 2000, during the United Nations Millennium Summit, when 189 head of States and Governments agreed to work together to make a better world to all by 2015. They have signed, on behalf of their people, the Millennium Declaration, which intends to make the right to development a reality to everyone. Rich and poor countries are committed to work together, in a global partnership, to achieve eight goals that were adopted. They are:-
