As an active member in the global and local communities, iEARN was selected to be the National Lead Agency in . Egyptian schools had been involved in celebrating the 7th Annual Global Youth Service Day April 21st - 23rd, 2006. Special focus was given to illiteracy eradication and orphans. Four schools in Alexandria participated and only one school from Cairo.
