Ana Masry!!

A Co-founder of Nahdet El-Mahrousa, one of the famous organizations in Egypt and an elected president of the Egyptian federation of youth NGOs, Ehaab Abdou makes our success story for this issue!
As a student, Ehaab was interested in doing social work activities and he participated in many of them, but it was during his time in the American University in Cairo, he started to work on projects of his own and he was unanimously elected as the league’s first Egyptian president, one of the largest student league in the world.
After he graduated, he worked in development organizations and he was introduced to the many social problems Egyptians were having. He gained experience in development and began to craft on a new idea.
As being known for starting things, Ehaab established Nahdet El-Mahrousa, allowing young people to discuss the most sensitive issues in Egypt and providing them with the professional training, mentorship, and resources they need to contribute to their country and start their own initiatives.
Ehaab also had a dream and a passion to sing. Several years ago he took this dream seriously, taking up professional voice training, then working on finding like-minded lyricists and musicians, and his self working on developing his songwriting skills. He presents music that deals with our lives, Egyptian and human societies, inspiring us to improve on ourselves and our society. Ana Masry (I am Egyptian) became the name of Abdou’s band, presenting a different style of creative music.
In May 2004, Ehaab received his master’s in international development from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh. He currently dedicates time to the management of Nahdet El- Mahrousa on a volunteer basis, running meetings and conferences, publicizes its projects, and seeking further partnerships and support.
From a student just like you to an effective person to the Egyptian society, Ehaab Abdou is an example for all of us to follow. Who knows, maybe someday someone will be writing your success story!
